How to Remove or Disable the Widget Button on the Windows 11 Taskbar

The new Windows 11 has never-before-seen widget options that can be extensively customized. It has some features similar to those in Windows 10 and some not so popular features have been removed. The space occupied by the widget is on the left side of the screen, which may annoy some users. How to Add or Remove Widget Buttons to the Windows 11 Taskbar

If you want to add or remove widget buttons on your Windows 11 taskbar, follow these steps.

  • Open Windows Settings by pressing the button Win + I or you can click Start (Windows icon) and select Settings.
  • In the Settings window, select Personalization in the left pane and click Taskbar in the right pane.
  • On the next page, you will find the button Widgets in the right pane. Use this button to activate or deactivate Widgets on your Windows 11.

How to Remove Widget Button from Windows 11 Taskbar

There are two different ways that you can use to remove the Widget button from the Windows 11 taskbar. Let’s take a look at these two methods in detail.

1. Remove Widget Button Using Taskbar Context Menu

To remove Widget button using context menu in Windows 11, follow the steps below.

  • Go to Taskbar and then right click on button Widgets.
  • Choose an option Hide from taskbar from the context menu and you are done.

This step will remove the Widget button from the taskbar on your Windows 11 PC.

2. Remove Widget Button Via Settings App

You can also use the taskbar settings to remove the Widgets button from the taskbar area. Here are the steps you can use to do this.

  • Use button Win + I to open the app Settings.
  • Then in the Settings window, select the option Personalization in the left pane and click Taskbar in the right pane.
  • On the next page, click the button Widgets Becomes Off to remove it from your Windows 11 Taskbar.

After following the instructions above, you will see the Widget button should disappear from the taskbar. However, you can still use the Win + W keys to open the widget.
